Jennifer Garner, though born in Houston, was actually raised in Charleston, WV, by both her father and mother. During her youth most of her time was spent on dancing stages perfecting the art of ballet. After attending college as a drama major, Garner decided to make a move to New York City in search of better acting and performing opportunities. In 1996, Garner got a role in the third installment of the “Lonesome Dove” series, which gave her a taste of the acting experience. After little success, Garner then moved to Los Angeles in 1998, where she received a role on the hit show, “Felicity”. The role would introduce her to future husband, Scott Foley, who played one of the main characters on the show. Garner’s biggest break came after acquiring the title role in ABC’s “Alias”, a spy-driven action/drama.
“Alias” proved to be a huge boost for Garner’s already blossoming career. Her role on that show often put her in situations involving scantily-clad uniforms, and other risqué moments, so it came as no surprise to many of her male fans when she grabbed Maxim’s Hottest Women of the Year Award in 2001. Her role in “Alias” also proved to be only the beginning for Garner, as she went on to star in 2001’s “Pearl Harbor”, 2003’s “Daredevil”, and 2004’s “13 Going on 30”, the latter of which tried to prove Garner’s ability to act in a variety of roles, not just the more action-driven ones. She also starred in the main role in 2005’s Daredevil spin-off, “Elektra”.
After divorcing Foley in 2004, Garner went on to marry Ben Affleck in June of 2005, with a baby on the way. Garner is currently working on three different movies and is also putting a lot of effort into maintaining a steady family life with her husband and their child.

Garner actually dated “Alias” co-star Michael Vartan, who plays an equally attractive agent on the spy drama.
Many speculate that Garner’s romance with Affleck began on the set of “Daredevil”, after an incident on the set that could have turned out to be a catastrophe. During a stunt that Garner was performing, she got tangled in wires and fell many feet, when Affleck came along and caught her, stopping her from hitting the ground, and possible injury. Though many did speculate the possibility of romance on the set, Garner was still technically married with Foley, while Affleck was still very public on his romance with Jennifer Lopez.
Many of Garner’s “Alias” fans are looking forward to her reprisal of a similar role in the Michael Mann thriller, “The Kingdom”, which takes place in the Middle East, after the bombing of a United States base by unknown men. Garner will star along with Jamie Foxx, Jason Bateman, and Chris Cooper, all of whom will play key roles in the back and forth spy thriller.
