Kate Hudson
Real Name: Kate Garry Hudson
Date of Birth: 19 April 1979
Place of birth: Los Angeles, CA
Profession: Actress
Kate Hudson is the daughter of the famous film actress, Goldie Hawn, and is the step-daughter of actor, Kurt Russell. Kate’s first real brush with stardom came with her portrayal of a band groupie in the film, “Almost Famous”. The role proved to make her a well-known name in Hollywood’s acting community, while also receiving higher recognition after the film was nominated for many awards in the 2001 Academy Award season. Hudson continued to gain notoriety off-screen, after marrying Black Crowe’s singer, Chris Robinson, who was over a decade older than Hudson, and was known for rocker-style, party antics. After her success in “Almost Famous”, Hudson went on to have a bit part in “Dr. T and the Women”, acting along side Richard Gere, while also gaining some acclaim for her role alongside Heath Ledger in 2002’s, “The Four Feathers”. The movie did not do well commercially, but it proved that Hudson had the ability to act in a diverse range of roles.
After the lukewarm reception of “The Four Feathers”, Hudson then went on to star in 2003’s “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days”, which was a hit among the female crowd, due to the romantic interactions between Hudson and the movie’s male star, Matthew McConaughey. She then went onto star in another 2003 film, “Alex and Emma”, which was another romantic flick co-starring Luke Wilson. The film did not manage to match the success achieved in “Ten Days”. Hudson then went on to star in “The Skeleton Key”, in 2005, which was quite the departure for her acting skills, because this role involved a more thrilling movie characteristic, but proved to do well with a modest amount of success that summer. Another movie that Hudson became a part of, was “You, Me, and Dupree”, which was released in the summer of 2006, and was a commercial and critical failure. Hudson is currently working on a number of films at the moment, which will offer the viewer many different tastes as far as the different types of roles she is taking on.
