Friday, June 29, 2007
Female celebrity and hip-hop star Eve Jihan Jeffers (Eve), pleaded no contest to driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than the legal limit this Thursday. As a result, Eve will be required to wear an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet for 45 days. The female rapper turned actress was not in court at the time her attorney entered the plea, which, under an established plea agreement, allowed a second count for driving under the influence against Eve to be dropped. Eve was originally arrested in the early hours of April 26th after she struck a Hollywood Boulevard median in her gold Maserati. Originally facing a maximum of six months jail time and a $1,000 fine, Eve only received 36 months probation and a $390 fine after the no contest plea. She will also face fees and restitution for repairs to the median, potentially bumping her total bill to more… Read full article

American Idol and Grammy-award winner, Kelly Clarkson, is currently having some ups and downs in the recording industry. The young star rose quickly to fame after capturing the first Idol crown in 2002, and winning two Grammy’s for her debut album, Thankful, and the second one, Breakaway, in 2006. Kelly signed a huge contract with NASCAR in January of 2007, where she’ll be featured as spokesperson in all their television spots, at charitable events, and at the gala award dinner in December. The young star is receiving some unfavorable publicity, however, as the press is reporting declining sales and controversy over her latest album, My December, just released this past Tuesday. Ms Clarkson chose to use her own people as co-writers this time, rather than keeping writer Max Martin who played a major part in the success of Kelly’s Since U Been Gone, along with hits by… Read full article

Cameron Diaz Apologizes to Peru
Tuesday, June 26, 2007
Female celebrity Cameron Diaz was recently seen touring an Incan city in the Andes of Peru with a drab green handbag with the slogan “Serve The People” written in Chinese Letters and a bright red star printed on the bag. The actress was not trying to set a new celebrity fashion trend, merely enjoying tourist purchase while touring China. The celebrity’s new purse contained a popular political slogan of Mao Zedong, a Chinese Communist leader. While this accessory is a hot fashion item in some parts of the world, the slogan on Cameron Diaz’s purse only brings back painful memories to the people of Peru. The slogan evokes memories of an insurgency by the Maoist Shining Path that battled against the Peruvian government during the 1980s and 1990s and left almost 70,000 individuals dead. Cameron Diaz was very upset about the incident and offered a… Read full article
