Considering the lyrics of her songs and her general punk rock appearance and sometimes very outspoken and untoward public behavior, Avril Lavigne appears to have sensitivity about her reputation that belies the rest of the way she acts.
Allegations have been spewing back and forth regarding the 22-year-old’s potential plagiarization of her hit single “Girlfriend” from a 1979 Rubinoos song called “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend”. The songwriters for the Rubinoos, Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwar, are in the process of getting a decision on a lawsuit that they filed against the singer.

Canadian punk-pop singer Avril Lavigne popped up at #1 this week on Billboard’s Top 200 chart for albums, selling over a quarter of a million copies of her new album, “The Best Damn Thing.” Worldwide, it’s sold over 1.5 million from her previous two successes and from the hit single, “Girlfriend.” Or has it?

Canadian rock star and movie actress Avril Lavigne is the new proud owner of a 9.5 million-dollar mansion that includes –among many other fancy accessories- more than 10 luxurious bathrooms.
Avril together with her husband, lead singer Deryck Whibley decided to buy the beautiful house formerly owned by the famous couple Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler located in Bel-Air, Los Angeles. The beautiful mansion really has some story of its own as it served as filming location for the MTV reality Show “Meet the Barkers”.
