Anna Nicole Smith Finally Laid to Rest

Today, the wishes of Anna Nicole were carried out as she was, finally, laid to rest next to her son, in the Bahamas. As of just a few short days ago it was still anyone’s guess as to when the starlet would be buried. Her mother, Virgie Arthur, had appealed the judge’s decision on the burial. Luckily, the appeal judge upheld the decision to let Anna Nicole be buried according to her wishes.

Her estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, was allowed to attend the invitation only service.  She arrived late and was greeted by fans who lined the church parking lot. The first to arrive was Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead. The two are locked in a head to head battle over the paternity of Anna Nicole’s daughter, Dannielynn.  It is reported that the two wept throughout the service.

Celebrity designers, POL ATTEU and PATRIK SIMPSON, who were close friends with Anna Nicole, designed and handmade a formal evening dress for her burial.  The dress is pink, Anna Nicole’s favorite color.

Pink was the color theme for the occasion.  The casket was draped in a pink cloth. All of the church flower’s were pink: pink poesies, stargazers and roses.

At the grave site, mourners will each be given a pink rose and a red rose. The pink rose is said to symbolize Anna Nicole and the red rose symbolizes her late son, Daniel.  Each mourner will also be given a pink, heart shaped, piece of paper. Anna Nicole’s loved ones wrote notes to the star and threw them onto her coffin as it was lowered into the ground. In keeping with Anna Nicole’s wishes, her late husband’s ashes will be buried with her.

Spotted among the invited guests were Slash (of Guns N Roses fame), Trimspa CEO Alex Goen, and Kim Whalther (Anna Nicole’s former assistant).

Family and friends of Anna Nicole are remembering her for being a loving mother, good friend, and a spiritual person. Let us hope that the media and the public can do the same.
