Anna Nicole Smith’s Very Bad Year

Anna Nicole Smith has had a very bad year. Best known for her TrimSpa commercials, Anna Nicole first came to fame during her much publicized marriage to the 90 year old oil tycoon, J. Howard Marshall. When he died, Anna Nicole only received a small portion, $426 million, of the tycoon’s billions. Anna Nicole is involved in an ongoing lawsuit to get more of her late husband’s fortune.  The problem is that the bulk of the fortune went to her late husband’s son, who claims that Anna Nicole is just a gold digger who married just for money.

Anna Nicole fell in love with her attorney, Howard K . Stern, and they married during the court proceedings. They have since had a baby, a girl named Dannielynn. The problem is that a third party, Anna Nicole’s ex lover, Larry Birkhead, claims that he is the father. A judge has ordered that a paternity test be conducted on Dannielynn to set the record straight.

Last Fall, Anna Nicole’s adult son, Daniel Ray Smith, died suddenly. Police still aren’t sure if it was an accidental drug overdose, suicide, or murder.

If all of this isn’t enough, now both TrimSpa and Anna Nicole Smith are being sued for false advertising. Anna Nicole lost a great deal of weight and gave the credit to TrimSpa. Now they are both being sued by a consumer group that is saying that the product just does not work.

Three law suits and the death of a beloved family member is more than enough to make most of us cower under a rock in a dark corner somewhere. Just imagine being a celebrity and having to deal with all of this in the public eye. But, whether you’re a fan or not, you have to give credit to Anna Nichole Smith for keeping her head high in the face of extreme adversity.
