Anne Hathaway Admits to Have Suffered From Depression
Wednesday, February 07, 2007
Actress Anne Hathaway, of “Brokeback Mountain” and “Princess Diaries” fame, recently admitted that she suffered from depression when she was a teenager, but has found her own ways of combating the symptoms of such troubling disturbances. Hathaway commented that she never agreed to use medication for the battle against depression, and instead was able to overcome the bouts of depression with help from her family, friends, and an individual determination that she found in her own way.
Hathaway is glad to say that the girl that used to be depressed is gone now, and even commented on the situation to her mother, saying, “She has now gone, gone to sleep.” Hathaway has been the star of many films as her career started with the very popular “Princess Diaries”, which also starred Julie Andrews. Her career has taken various turns, along with her acting style, which has seen her play roles of the advantaged, a troubled youth, and a woman struggling with the infidelities of her husband. Hathaway is currently in the middle of filming releases due out in the next year, and is glad that her depression never affected her work, though it easily could have.
Hathaway has created many waves in the acting world by appearing semi-nude in some of her most recent releases, though she has stated that she would never do so if the role did not ask for it. Many parents have wondered about her ability to remain the great role model that was found by many little girls on the “Princess Diaries” movies, but Hathaway has long proven that she is very efficient in making moves that will accentuate her career in a great number of ways, and though her posing nude may have been goodbye wave to those who enjoyed her younger roles, the newer films have opened up doors that the older films could not.
