Anne Heche Wins Furniture Battle in Divorce Case

Anne Heche wins furniture in the divorce case filed by her and estranged spouse Coley Laffoon.
According to Superior Court Judge Shaller’s ruling on Tuesday, the 38 year old actress gets to keep a number of linens and furniture in this divorce skirmish with the 33 year-old Laffoon of Men in Trees.
In the middle of this divorce battle, Laffoon had pointed a finger at Heche for taking a couple of items for their LA house they had used alternately when the actress was around town.
To the allegation, Heche answered that she needed the things to furnish her home in Canada. She’s been staying there this month to film the ABC show, Men in Trees. Heche also added that she had been asking his estranged husband what things he desires, but with no received response. Consequently, she decided to take the items she had bought before the marriage and she explained in the court papers that she did “not intend to dispose of any of these items.”
Based on the court Judge’s ruling, Heche is allowed to keep the things. However, Judge Shaller adds that Laffoon have “temporary exclusive use and occupancy of the residence” unless the house is sold or another court ruling would go against it.
Anne Heche and Coley Laffoon’s divorce battle is considered to be one of the ugliest and craziest. Heche had fought and won the custody of their five-year-old son, Homer and an undisclosed amount of child support despite Laffoon’s allegations that she was a bad mother and that she displays “bizarre and delusional behavior” making her a psychologically unfit parent.
Then the divorce case went on to a battle over furniture that included rugs, a king sized bed and a footstool that Laffoon insisted Heche took from the house they use alternately. However, Heche denied the allegation and said that she only took items such as pillows, bedding and “picture of a saint” that she already owns before she got married to Laffoon.
This was the first marriage for the female celebrity and actress; Anne Heche and former girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres were to be married in 1999 if Vermont sanctioned gay marriages.
