Are Ashlee Simpson and Peter Wentz More Than Just Friends?

Ashlee Simpson and Peter Wentz admit to being good friends but deny rumors that there is a romance brewing between the two. However, on-lookers at a Los Angeles hotspot on Saturday night would say otherwise. In fact, other guests say the couple spent the night holding hands and making out.

Peter Wentz (age 27), who is the bassist for the rock group Fall Out Boy, had been denying rumors for some time now. He says that his rumored romance with Ashlee (age 22) is just not true. However, he does put emphasis on the fact that the two are good friends. Wentz told People magazine in November that although “Ashlee is the sweetest girl ever,” they were “just friends.” And in February he told Rolling Stone magazine: “Maybe in a different universe, we’d be some hot couple, but not in this one.”

The two do seem to be from different universes. Ashlee is the pretty, girl next door type. Her bubble gum pop albums are popular with teen age girls. Peter Wentz is the messy rock n’ roll star who wears heavy eyeliner. His band’s music is popular with young men in their early 20’s. Still, opposites do attract.

Just ask party goers at Los Angeles hotspot, Parc. According to People magazine, the pair were there celebrating a friend’s birthday. During the festivities the two slipped away to a secluded corner. They were seen acting very romantic including kissing, holding hands, and gazing into each other’s eyes. One onlooker had this to say about the couple, “They definitely weren’t hiding the fact that they were together. They were making out a lot and they were pretty intense.”

At the end of the night, the two left together, walking hand in hand.
