Emma Bunton has baby

Baby Spice aka, Emma Bunton 31, became a mother to her first child Aug. 10. Son Beau entered this world at 11:12 a.m. Aug 10 weighing in at 7 lbs. 15 oz.  Dad is long-time boyfriend Jade Jones 27, of the British boy band Damage. Bunton and Jones have been together for eight years and moved into a five-bedroom home in North London, which they bought in 2005.

Baby Spice joins Scary Spice, Melanie Brown in motherhood. Brown had a daughter by Eddie Murphy in April. Unlike Murphy, who at first denied paternity of Brown’s daughter, Jade Jones relished the birth.

“He is absolutely brilliant and Beau and Emma are doing fine,” he said outside London’s Portland Hospital. “In fact, Emma is tucking into some flapjacks and Coca-Cola as we speak.”

Motherhood for the youngest of the Spice Girls has been difficult at best. She needed to have pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix in 2000 and last year was diagnosed with endometriosis, a very painful condition where the lining of the uterus begins growing in other areas of the body, making it difficult to conceive.

Bunton spent her formal school years at the Sylvia Young Theater School., left secondary school when she was 16 to study drama at Barnet Technical College and while still a young girl, met the group who dubbed her Baby Spice in 1993 and a whirlwind of activity followed. When the Spice Girls went their separate ways, Baby Spice had a hit single, “What Took You So Long,” which shot to number one in 2001. She again achieved success with “Free Me” and “Maybe” in 2003. “Free Me” was released in the States in 2005.

Jade Jones is currently with the band CherryBlackStone and can be seen on England’s channel 4’s Reality Show, The Games. He also serves food to soccer fans at the Lord Stanley in London’s Camden.
