Besides a three million dollar birthday party and rumors of a wedding, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have apparently had furniture on the mind. They spent $40,000 on a chair on Friday December 8th.  Sources say the couple became enraptured with the piece while attending Design Miami, featuring both contemporary and modern art pieces.

As far as the big screen goes, Dreamgirls, a movie adapted from the Broadway musical of the same name, is set to premiere in Los Angeles and New York, on December 15, 2006.  In the movie, Beyoncé plays one of the Dreamettes, along with Jennifer Hudson and Anika Noni Rose.  In Dreamgirls, actor Jamie Foxx plays a car salesman who is able to work his way into the Detroit music business.  Once there, he pioneers the crossover of African-American music to the mainstream, Caucasian scene.  Actor Eddie Murphy plays as a singer for whom the Dreamettes originally work as background singers, before rising to fame on their own.

For those interested in how Beyoncé got her bootylicious tush and waistline, the secret appears to be hula hooping. A hula hoop is a plastic, ring-shaped toy that was very popular in the 70s.  More recently, some people have come to use the toy for sport and exercise. Beyoncé says she spends hours hula hooping and actually won hula-hoop contests when she was a child.  It definitely appears to be working for her curvaceous frame; the rest of us should be so lucky.
