Britney Asks Robyn to Help Out on New Album

Britney Spears is looking to get her musical career back on track and she has enlisted the help of a top European popstar to aide her.
Robin Miriam Carlsson, better known simply as Robyn, has been asked to write a track for Britney’s new CD, what will become her fifth studio album.
One of the producers on the upcoming release, planned for November this year, has commented on the album saying that it is “like Toxic times 10”.
Her new recruit has previously written a song for Britney, however, that track did not make it past the recording stage.
Robyn, a singer/songwriter from Sweden, released her own single in the UK this week. The collaboration with Kleerup, entitled With Every Heartbeat is doing well in the midweek charts and is set to challenge for the top spot on Sunday.
Her first single was recorded in 1991 and was used as the theme tune for a Swedish television show. At the time, Robyn was just 12.
She has released four albums in her native country, where she is a huge star of Britney proportions, including her one American release Robyn Is Here which included her hit single Do You Know (What It Takes)? which reached #7 in the US charts in 1996.
Robyn says she wants the song to be “fresh and modern” like Umbrella, Rihanna’s recent single that broke UK records by being the first song in more than a decade to stay at #1 for more than nine weeks.
She said, “I love Umbrella by Rihanna. I know it got on some people’s nerves but there’s something really fresh and modern about that song.”
Earlier this year Britney ran a poll on her official website to let fans decide the name of her new album. The five options available are Omg is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like, What if the Joke is on You, Down boy, Integrity and Dignity.
Voting is still open to members of the Britney Spears official fan club.
