Britney Spears remains in the media spotlight

Britney Spears is perhaps the media’s favorite subject, as she seldom leaves the spotlight for long. There is always something going on with Britney. Although she filed for divorce some time ago from Kevin Federline, his Christmas Day phone call brought a fresh outburst of tears and woe is me. Federline called to speak with their two sons, Sean and Jayden, but Britney chose the occasion to bring up their failed relationship. The holidays can be depressing for many, and it seemed it was no different for Britney, who broke down and told him just how much she missed him. It has only been a short while ago that we read of her complaining about married life, and we have to wonder just what it is she really wants. After the parties and the family and friends go home, the big house she recently bought now seems emptier than ever. Britney’s non-stop nightlife doesn’t seem to have brought her much happiness.
At the recent New Years’s party she was paid almost $300,000 to host at Pure in Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, she arrived in a sequined mini-dress. Britney danced and sang to her latest hit “I’m A Slave 4 U,” popped the cork on a $5,000 bottle of Dom Perignon, and posed in front of a Happy New Year cake iced in diamonds. Yet, shortly after the countdown, she apparently fell asleep at the party. Whether this was due to pure exhaustion or too much to drink is anyone’s guess. The media, of course, is never kind, reporting that Britney was carried out in a stupor. Her manager, Larry Rudolph, has denied the rumors repeatedly, insisting that she was simply overtired and ready to leave. Now, when asked, Britney has made a couple of New Year’s resolutions, the first to take better care of herself, which sounds good. The second to stop biting her nails, which sounds easy enough. Which of these she is able to keep remains to be seen.
