Britney Spears Passes Drug Test

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Britney Spears has taken a major step towards regaining custody of her two sons, by passing her first drug test, according to TMZ.com.

Spears lost the custody of her two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline last week when Los Angeles judge Scott Gordon has ordered that K-Fed should have custody of the children until “further notice”.

It is believed Spears lost custody of the boys because she failed to produce a valid California driving license for the court and failed to turn up for a scheduled drug test.

However, after spending time with her children over the weekend in the presence of a parenting coach, and passing the drug test, things are looking up for the troubled star.

Her new single Gimme More is doing very will in the charts, which bodes well for the release of her new album Blackout next month.

If Spears can pass drug tests, produce a valid driving license and prove herself to a fit mother between now and her next court hearing on October 26, her visitation rules will most likely be relaxed or she could even regain custody of her two young sons.

It has been a tough year for the Baby One More Time singer. As well as falling out with her management company, she has been in and out of rehab and been photographed partying until the early hours on a number of occasions.

She is also facing a court hearing after she was accused of crashing into a parked car in a parking lot and driving off. If she is convicted she could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
