Brittany Murphy Paying Tribute to Ramen Soup

Ramen soup, what the Japanese have voted their #1 contribution to the world, gets a tribute this year: “The Ramen Girl,” a movie so thoroughly saturated with Japanese culture and the cultural clashes with the West that the director’s upset when it’s compared with less accurate movies.  Brittany Murphy plays the American young woman who causes it all.

“Tinker Bell” also wraps up production this year, with Brittany playing the voice of the selfsame fairy.  As she realizes she’s spent over half her life as a professional actress, she jokes that it really was a lot longer, since she started entertaining people at age two.  At 14, she started professional acting on television.

She’s working on “Sin City 2,” “The White Hotel,” and “The Other Side.” The story of a film matters most to Brittany when accepting roles, and she says that she loves the story of “The Other Side.” On an odd remote island, reality and fantasy intermingle, and as far as she’s concerned, the story is otherworldly and an ultimately unique combination of things that’s special, itself.

As much as she acts, Brittany Murphy loves to sing and picks up singing bits where she can.  She may not draw people to the box offices, but she has 15 years’ acting experience.  Her work is an either/or for her.  Some people may not like it, she readily admits, but it’s what she wants it to be.

Even after breaking up with Eminem, she calls him wonderful and among the sweetest people she’s ever met, though she won’t say more out of respect for his privacy.  Being famous has a price, as she well knows, such as getting fans who obsess enough to frighten you.  Stalkers aren’t fun to experience, but it comes with her job, which she loves.
