Carrie Underwood Nervous About Second Album

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is still shocked and surprised at her success in the recording industry according to CNN.com. Especially since the petite blonde has a shy and reserved side and thought she looked terrible on American Idol. Underwood sang in church, school musicals and talent shows near her home in Checotah, Oklahoma and is the youngest of three sisters.

Underwood’s real start came when she won the ‘American Idol’ and it was up, up and away as she then goes on to sell six million copies of her debut album ‘Some Hearts’, which is enormous for a debut album. Carrie Underwood, at 24 is the reigning Country Music Awards vocalist of the year, which is memorable in itself because of the actions of Faith Hill, another popular country star who appeared a bit perturbed at the fact Underwood got vocalist of the year. Hill said everyone made too much of it and she was just joking around.

Underwood’s new album, Carnival Ride’ will be making its debut in stores October 30 and she is nervous. Because she shot to stardom so quickly with her first album and her video and single of the song ‘Before He Cheats’, it’s hard not to be nervous.

“Even if it doesn’t sell as many, I feel like we’ve made a better album, which is what you want to do. You want to keep getting better and have better songs and keep sounding better and moving forward.” she said. “So even if we don’t reach the numbers, I’m definitely still very pleased with it. I don’t think it will be a letdown at all.”

There were some drawbacks on her rocketing climb to the top. Underwood said she just wasn’t ready for all the attention because she values her privacy and says it is now harder to find these days.

Carrie also counts ‘American Idol’ as giving her a great start as she said without Idol; she would never have made it to Nashville.
