Courteney Cox Gets Down And Dirty
Wednesday, March 21, 2007
How far would you go to publicize your new show? As far as Courteney Cox?
Courteney Cox has certainly seen a change in her career since the heady days of “Friends” when the cast were rumored to be receiving around $1 million per episode. She is soon to star as a Tabloid Editor in her forthcoming show “Dirt”, although she seems to have taken the name too literally. Ms Cox has been photographed covered in what can only be described as “Dirt” in a photo shoot for the show.
Courteney Cox is set to play Lucy Spiller, a sultry executive of a tabloid magazine, with the show receiving positive reviews in the US press. In what seems to be the norm for Hollywood, Ms Cox was recently in the media complaining about the paparazzi, and pictures appearing in the press - surely this is a little hypocritical as she is set to appear on the front page of the April addition of US magazine Los Angeles Confidential?
Ms Cox looks younger than her 42 years, which may explain why she is still in the limelight while many actresses start to disappear in the run up to age 40. There have been constant rumors of either a one off special, or a movie of the “Friends” series, but it seems they are having trouble arranging convenient shooting times for all members of the cast.
Since the final episode of “Friends” the household names from the show have gone their separate ways, with differing degrees of success. Some have disappeared from the limelight all together, and may be a little more enthusiastic than the likes of Courteney Cox, who still has a presence in the industry.
It will be very interesting to see if Ms Cox can shake off her “Monica” character from “Friends” and succeed in a more dynamic role. Few would bet against this ever youthful star of the screen.
