Courtney Has No Love for Beau Monde

The widow of rock superstar Curt Cobain is being sued by The Beau Monde rehab center in South Beach, California. Courtney Love (age 42) is involved in a law suit over a disputed amount of $180,000.

Singer/actress Courtney Love had her own band before marrying Kurt Cobain. However, it was after his death that Love made a name for herself.  Her group, Hole, had a critically acclaimed album titled, Live Through This.  Love has starred in several movies, most notabley, Sid & Nancy and The People vs. Larry Flynt.

However, recently, Love has gotten headlines for her wild antics.  She threw a cosmetic compact at Madonna during a live interview. She then interrupted the interview, prompting Madonna to get up and leave.  Love, then fell over, exposing herself to the cameras. This was just one in a long series of events that has had Love in and out of court. A California judge sentenced Love to a stay in rehab in an attempt to give her a chance to gain control.

Love stayed at The Beau Monde rehab center for four months.  The Beau Monde center is best known for it’s lush atmosphere. Daily treatment includes messages and whale watching.

Court papers filed by The Beau Monde state that Love paid $10,000 down when she first entered the facility.  Love’s total bill came to a whopping $180,000. She has yet to make any further payments on her bill.

A lawyer for Love, Howard Weitzman, has said that his client is disputing the amount that she owes. Weitzman told the Los Angeles Times, “this matter is in the process of being resolved.”.

A spokesman for The Beau Monde declined to speak to reporters; saying that to do so would be a breach of client confidentiality.
