Strange Happenings on Dancing with the Stars

Well, Sabrina Bryan one of the girls in the girl group the Cheetah Girls and the Disney Channel’s original movie of the same name (and its sequel) evidently was not able to pull off the foxtrot well enough for the judges.  Bryan evidently was the most promising dancer in the television program ‘Dancing with the Stars’ before October 30 when she was sent home, according to Yahoo! News.

Bryan, who scored a 30 two weeks ago on her paso doble (a lively style of dance modeled after the sound, drama and movement of a Spanish bullfight) with her partner Mark Ballas Jr. was one of the early favorites to make the finals this season, which recently have been plagued with some rather bizarre incidents. The ousting of Bryan was a shocker for all on that night and for the season.

There has been an ongoing ‘lift’ controversy between Jane Seymour and Carrie Ann Inaba who exchanged heated words over what looked like lifts during Seymour’s performance with partner Tony Dovolani. In an attempt to quell the controversy, Dovolani pulled out the rule book on lifts and depending on who you talk to, Inaba either shrugged it off or gave Dovolani’s finger.

Then there was the fainting spell of Marie Osmond, the passing of Jane Seymour’s mother causing her to miss a performance, Jennie Garth’s slip up during a routine and the no-shows of Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez due to family emergencies.

Jane Seymour was absent again October 30 due to food poisoning. Interesting actually as Seymour didn’t exactly have kind words to say about the judging at least. In a comment to E Online, she said, “I don’t have the doll thing going, (referring to Osmond selling dolls on QVC) and some dancers [like Mel B] can come out here and just walk around. You get higher scores in this competition if you just walk around. Or you go up to the judges and you go pat, pat, on the cheek and you get 10s for that.”

Maybe she ate some sour grapes.
