Monday, March 26, 2007
Actress Denise Richards is being sued by two paparazzi following an incident in which she threw their lap top computers over a hotel balcony.
The incident happened during the filming of the movie, Blonde & Blonder. Richards stars in the film opposite Pamela Anderson. Anderson says that the paparazzi had been ruthless during the filming.
Richards, in a rampage, stormed up several flights of stairs and onto the balcony of the River Rock Casino Resort, where the two reporters were stationed. She then hurled abusive language at the two men, attempted to hit them, and then grabbed their lap tops and hurled them over the balcony. One laptop hit an elderly women in a wheelchair. The woman sustained minor injuries.
The two reporters, Scott Cosman and Rik Fedyck, filed a law suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. In the law suit, the two state that Richards, “stormed up several flights of stairs to their balcony, launched into a 20-minute verbal tirade and physical assault, and called both men ‘paparazzi scum.’. She pushed and hit both Fedyck and Cosman, snatched their laptop computers from their hands, and threw them over the balcony with total disregard for ... other guests, including an elderly woman in a wheelchair who was struck by one of the falling computers.” The lawsuit also claims that Richards made false accusations to police of harassment, stalking, assault, battery and trespassing and defamed them in public remarks.
Richards has admitted to throwing the laptops and said that she was wrong. Her rep would not comment on the lawsuit.
Pamela Anderson is speaking up on behalf of Richards, saying, “If it were me I would’ve thrown the photographers over the edge – they got lucky.”
