Jessica Simpson Does Good

Jessica Simpson recently donated a new Chrysler mini van to a Mexican orphanage. She has supported the orphanage, Casa Hogar Elim for some time now. Located in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, the orphanage is run by a woman affectionately referred to Mama Lupita.
The orphanage had an old mini van which broke down. Mama Lupita borrowed a friends truck, however, it too broke down. This left no way for Mama Lupita to transport the children around town.
Jessica won a Chrysler Crossfire sports car in the swag room of the MTV Music Video Awards. She immediately thought of Mama Lupita and the children at Casa Hogar Elim. Jessica asked Chrysler if she had to take the Crossfire. She asked if she could trade it in for a mini van. Chrysler agreed to the swap and Jessica was given a white Town & Country mini van. The white automobile is equipped with a DVD player so that the children can watch their favorite movies while being transported.
Jessica drove the automobile to Casa Hogar Elim accompanied by her mom, Tina; and her manager-father, Joe. Her rock star boy friend, John Mayer stayed behind in California.
The children greeted Jessica with smiles and hugs. Mama Lupita could not say, “muchas gracias” (thank you) enough times. The children presented Jessica with a plaque and a beaded necklace which they had made themselves. The children that could speak English yelled, “We love you Jessica”.
Then a marching band arrived. The children had paid for the marching band by making and selling the beaded necklaces.
A rep for Jessica Simpson said that she was very touched by the gesture of the marching band, especially since the children paid for it themselves. Jessica told Mama Lupita, “I’m so honored and happy to be able to help.”
