Jessica Simpson Launches Swimwear Collection

Jessica Simpson released her first swimwear collection at Miami’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami, Florida on Saturday.

The collection boasts skimpy two-piece bikinis as well as the stylish one-piece suits. Jessica Simpson played a huge, personal role in the design and marketing of the line. She even picked out the runway models that were used to promote her swimwear.

The Jessica Simpson swimwear collection features polka dots, geometrical prints and floral prints. She says that these designs were “inspired by different parts of my personality.” There are three basic styles to the swimwear collection: All American Girl that features white and blue designs; Boho Girl that features earth tones; and Retro Hawaiian Girl that features bright and natural color combinations.

Simpson seems to be always wearing the skimpy outfits when we see her but she insists it wasn’t always something she felt comfortable doing, “I was always the girl who wore sweat pants and baseball caps to not be intimidating. But now I’ve learned to embrace beauty as a part of my career, as part of my inner soul, as a part of who I am.”

Jessica Simpson first came on the scene as one of the teen pop sensations in the 1990’s. She made herself stand out from the other girls by being conservative and having a great vocal range. She married Nick Lachey, former 98 degrees member, in 2003. It seemed their marriage couldn’t handle the media pressure from their show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. With all the media speculation, there was problems in their marriage; it seemed to be confirmed because in 2005, they divorced.

Jessica has proved once again she can be successful in the beauty and fashion markets. She already has an edible skincare line that is very successful. Next up for her? Jessica Simpson has plans to release her own fragrance line next summer.
