Joss Stone’s Latest Album Gets That Sinking Feeling

While Joss Stone has been mooted as the next big UK singing star to crack the US, she appears hell bent on ruining her pop career before it has even started! The fresh faced teenager left the UK for America a few years ago, but she recently made a disastrous return for the UK Brit Awards.

She seems to have taken on a “diva” status, even though she has not yet cracked the US market, and her new album has not even reach the top ten in the UK, never mind a decent placing in the US charts.  While her first two albums were very successful, and offered the opportunity to win over the US market, she appears to be heading from one PR disaster to another.

She was recently heard complaining about life as a pop millionaire, which has angered many of her fans in both the UK and US, coupled together with her recent London “gig”, where the youngster kept the crowd waiting for more than 2 hours before taking the stage.

Recent murmurings in the US suggest that her music record bosses are not too happy with her “diva” lifestyle, which seems to be turning off fans by the day.  Joss Stone may be about to learn that you are only as good as your last album, and you should never forget your fan base.  The music industry is cut throat, never more so than in the US, where fans can soon turn against you.

There is no doubt that Ms Stone has an excellent voice and has the world at her feet, but she needs to appreciate that “diva” status only comes after a sustained period of success. Time seems to be running out for the youngster, who needs to shape up over the next few months and get back to what she does best - Singing!!
