Kate Moss nude photos to be sold at Christie’s

Nude photographs of beautiful model and fashion icon Kate Moss will be sold at an auction in London next month among several other pictures of the famous British supermodel.

The photographs will be auctioned next May 31st, Christie’s auctioneers said this past Monday. Needless to say, there are many interested in the beautiful works of art.

A 1996 nude portrait print by famous American photographer Irving Penn is expected to sell at about $44,000, according to the auction house. Another 6x6 foot-square nude picture of the famous supermodel taken by notorious Scottish photographer Albert Watson will probably reach about $30,000 at the auction. 

The pictures of the famous supermodel are well valued nowadays. Christie’s specialists announced that a set of six prints of Moss without any makeup taken by phorealistic photographer and painter Chuck Close could easily sell for up to $40,000.

An unpublished shot will also be sold at the auction by one of the model’s friends. It was taken by Corinne Day in London back in 1990, two years after the supermodel was discovered at the age of 14 at the JFK airport in New York.

One other picture taken in 1993 by Corinne Day for the famous fashion magazine Vogue and featuring a fresh-looking 19-year old Kate Moss is expected to sell for no less than $14,000. This famous Vogue image was fundamental to launch the grunge movement right up into the fashion mainstream and propelling the ‘heroin chic’ look to its place in fashion history back in the 90’s. 

Kate Moss, the ‘anti-supermodel’ of the 90’s (nickname she received due to the high contrast she had in comparison with the other famous models of the moment Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer) has been voted by several famous magazines such as Maxim, Arena and Celebrity Sleuths as one of the 10 sexiest women in the world.
