Kelly Clarkson Rich But Not Retiring

American Idol Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson has told the world that she has earned enough money from her pop career to see her through the rest of her life – although she has no plans to end her career just yet. The American Idol winner and female singing sensation Clarkson went from unknown to unstoppable as the first winner of the reality television show.

The 25 year old female celebrity stunner claims she had enough cash to retire two years ago.

Clarkson said “I have saved and saved, and I don’t have to work another day.  When I won Idol and started working with a business manager, she asked, ‘What do you want?’ I told her I don’t ever want to have to make a decision because I need money. So we accomplished that two years ago, and I’m set.”

The female singer, who has released hits such as Since U Been Gone, Because Of You and Never Again, broke onto the music scene in September 2000 when her debut single A Moment Like This peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.  This song was later covered by Leona Lewis, the winner of the third series of the UK’s X Factor.

Kelly Clarkson recently recorded her third album, My December, but fell out with the chief executive of her record label because of it.

She said, “I just want people to hear it, instead of 100-year old executives making decisions on what’s good for pop radio. It’s people my age who listen to it. My gut hasn’t been wrong yet, so why wouldn’t I continue to follow it?  They hated Miss Independent on my first album. It was number one for six weeks, then they got behind it.”

The Texan born pop star performed at the recent Live Earth concert held in New York’s Giant Stadium.  As well as being concerned with environmental issues, Kelly Clarkson is a highly religious girl who carries a bible at all times.

Luckily for her fans, although Kelly Clarkson has met her financial goals and is able to retire, she is staying around for the fans.
