Kelly Rowland second album

Life just keeps getting better and better for those who went their own way after Destiny’s child. Former Destiny’s Child team player Kelly Rowland kicked off her second album ‘Ms. Kelly’ recently, an album Rowland said she has been working on for years and finally completed.

Kelly Rowland’s first album was the R&B solo ‘Simply Deep,’ which was released in 2002 and reached nearly two million in sales. Her single ‘Dilemma’ won a Grammy and hit the top of the charts. Five years later and with a lot of work going into it, Rowland releases her second album with guest appearance from Snoop Dogg and Eve. Ms. Kelly showcases the single ‘Ghetto’ featuring Snoop Dogg about good girls who want bad boys.

‘Ghetto’ is just so laid back and that’s why I had to have Snoop,” Rowland said. “He just gives it that something. I like it when a song can make you feel good.”

Kelly’s easy personality and charm has landed her movie and television roles. She stared in the 2003 horror movie ‘Freddy vs. Jason’ and the comedy-romance movie ‘The Seat Filler,’ which was produced by Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith the following year. Rowland appeared as Carley in a few episodes of ‘The Hughley’s’ and as Martha Reeves of Martha and the Vandellas on American dream and has appeared on Saturday Night Live and The View.

Kelly Rowland was born Kelendria Trene Rowland Feb. 11, 1981 in Atlanta Ga. and is cousin to Beyonce Knowles.

Rowland said her Destiny’s Child band mates are very supportive of each others solo careers, which is surprising in the entertainment business when competition and jealousy are the norms.

“It was instilled in us, just the spirit of camaraderie and it’s really important to me,” she said in an interview to the Associated Press. “I’m so happy that my parents taught me that, you know, the fact there’s room and space for everybody and that we’re supposed to support each other and be secure within ourselves as women, as sisters.”

Kelly Rowland was once engaged to Dallas Cowboy Star Roy Williams and rumors persists that one track of her album ‘Still in Love with my Ex’ is about him. Rowland however denies it.
