Lindsay Lohan - out of rehab and into court.

On Thursday, Lindsay Lohan calmly surrendered to the Beverly Hills police, where she was formally arrested her on hit-and-run and misdemeanor charges of DUI (driving under the influence) in a car crash incident that happened May 26, 2007.

As reported by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s online site, the 21 year old actress, accompanied by her lawyer, arrived at the police station in the afternoon and was released an hour later after paying a $30,000 bail.

Lohan was only cited a few months ago and not formally charged because of the injuries she acquired of the crash. Now that she’s formally booked, a court date of August 24 is set in the Superior Court of Beverly Hills.

A few days ago, the star of “Mean Girls” Lohan checked out of rehab after a 45-day stay, yet is still under the rehab center’s outpatient program. This was according to a announcement issued by the actress’ rep. She was spotted wearing an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet, which is part or the outpatient program. The ankle bracelet measures the vapors of the skin for any traces of ethanol and then with the help of the modem, the measurement results are sent to the rehab facility for assessment.

The car crash occurred in the early dawn of May 26; Lohan crashed her Mercedez-Benz convertible into a curb after some night of partying at Les Deux. Lohan was detained after the crash, alleged tests have shown that Lohan had consumed two times the allowed amount of alcohol and traces of cocaine were found in her blood and in the car.

Consequently after the actress’ arrest, Lindsay Lohan checked into rehab. However, it wasn’t the first time that Lohan checked into rehab. In January 2007, Lindsay Lohan checked into a rehab facility to be treated for substance abuse.
