The 20 year old star of the films, Mean Girls, and Herbie, has checked herself into rehab, according to a statement released by her publicist. In the statement, Lohan is quoted as saying, “I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health,” she said. “I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time.” In the statement Lohan’s publicist is quoted as saying, “Lindsay is in a very positive frame of mind and is looking forward to making a positive change in her life.”
Lohan has been hard at work filming the movie, “I Know Who Killed Me”. However, production on the thriller has been suspended ever since Lohan’s recent bout of appendicitis. A production company spokesman says that Lohan’s shooting schedule is a 13 hour day and requires a log of physical activity. If they are concerned about Lohan’s rehab visit; they are not letting on to the press. When asked if they are concerned, the spokes person only says that the movie is insured against such mishaps.
It was first revealed in December that Lohan was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Apparently the super star has been going to meetings for about a year now. When asked why she started attending AA meetings, Lohan is quoted as saying, “I knew I was going out too much and I have more to live for than that”. She continued on to say that she feels much better when she is not drinking. This statement comes after a recent but previous statement from Lohan saying that she is not a party girl and asked the question, “Is it a crime to go out dancing with your friends”?.
Over the summer Lohan was chastised for missing too many days from the set of the movie Georgia Rule. James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, who is producing the movie, blamed Lohan’s absentness on too much partying. Lohan is reported to have been hospitalized at the time for dehydration.
