Lindsay Lohan vows to stay sober

Lindsay Lohan says she is staying away from Los Angeles, toxic friends and is going to stay sober.

“The trouble in my family resulted in me rebelling and doing things to get my parents’ attention,” she says. “But all in all, it’s better for me now to have them (in my life). It’s healthy,” she said in a recent interview according to CNN.com. Lohan’s parents have been involved in a bitter divorce.

Lohan said her rehab stint was a sobering and humbling experience. “It made me look at myself and all of the people, places and things in my life in a different way,” she told OK! magazine.

Lohan entered the Cirque Lodge in Utah in August after reaching a plea deal on misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine chargers…after her two arrests. She will be staying in Utah until she needs to return to Los Angeles to shoot her movie ‘Dare to Love Me’. She will return to Utah after shooting is completed because she believes she will be able to stay focused there.

Lindsay said she is cutting out all the people from her life that encouraged abuse and told OK! magazine; “Those are the ones who are around me for the wrong reasons. The people who want to go out and party, that’s not what I am about now.”

She is also happy to have her family’s support as her father, Michael Lohan whom she had a 3 ½ year estrangement was there at the clinic to pick her up.

On top of her arrest in May, after crashing her Mercedes-Benz into a tree in Beverly Hills, her arrest in July after the mother of her former personal assistant called 911 to report that her car was being chased by a sport utility vehicle with Lindsay Lohan at the wheel.  She will be facing a lawsuit from the May crash and is due in court sometime in April 2008.
