Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to One Day in Jail

Lindsay Lohan is back in the news for all the wrong reasons again after being sentenced to one day in jail after she pleaded guilty to drunk driving and drug charges.
As a part of a plea bargain she will also do community service and complete a drug treatment program.
She was charged with possession of cocaine and driving under the influence, amongst other charges.
The embattled actress released a candid statement saying: “It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs. Recently I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case.”
However, Lohan may consider herself lucky that she avoided more serious charges as she was in possession of only a small amount of the drug.
This could be a turning point for the Hollywood star who has found herself in trouble on a number of occasions in recent months.
Just last week she was sued for assault and negligence by a passenger in a SUV that the actress allegedly chased while drunk last month.
According to the suit filed against Lohan, Tracie Rice was in the SUV driven by Michelle Peck, the mother of Lindsay Lohan’s former assistant. Rice says she “was convinced that their lives were in danger”.
These latest incidents follow similar problems in Lohan’s professional life. In May, the filming of Poor Things was delayed so she could complete rehab.
And last year, studio executive James G Robinson went public in criticizing Lindsay Lohan’s behavior on the set of Georgia Rule, describing her as “discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional”.
