Mandy Moore is Okay

Mandy Moore knows her strengths and weaknesses; something that is rare in today’s entertainment industry. Not only does she have an awareness about herself; she also has a good head on her shoulders--something very rare, in deed.
So, Mandy is okay with wearing an ankle cast out in public--she fractured her ankle jumping off a pier for a photo shoot in Mexico last February.
She is also okay with her ex boyfriends. She stays friends with all of them and even keeps in touch. Her philosophy is that you get into a relationship for a reason; because you have a connection with someone. You don’t lose the connection just because you are no longer dating. Explains Mandy, “People are in your life for a reason, and I don’t think you ever stop caring about people you’ve been close to. You don’t ever stop supporting them – well, I don’t at least. From Andy [Roddick] to Zach [Braff] to Wilmer [Valderrama], all those people.” She did get depressed after her relationship with Zach Braff ended, “I felt really low, really sad,” she says.
She is okay with her weight. Mandy Moore is not super skinny--nor is she fat. She is an average size girl; something unforgiving in the entertainment business. “I’m not like a toothpick, and I never will be. I’m just a regular-looking person – and that’s okay. It’s taken a while to come to grips with that since it’s definitely not the norm in my business. But like, who cares?” says Mandy. She laughed and said “If anything, that makes someone more special, or at least that’s what I tell myself!”
She is okay with the fact that she has not had a good deal of success with her first love--music. Her past failures have taught her much and this time around she will do things differently. “I was very adamant about the type of record I wanted to make. I am aware enough to know I haven’t had a ton of musical success – and music is my first love”, she says.
Her new album, “Wild Hope”, is due out May 4.
