Mariah Goes Em-Bashing

Flirty Mariah Carey may be a sex symbol as her recent label from Playboy enforces, but she’s not happy about others’ assumptions about her.  She insists that she’s “very much a prude.” She’s flirtatious because she enjoys flirting, not necessarily because she’s interested in a fling.

Besides her realization that people read more into her flirting than she allegedly intends, Mariah’s also admitted that her single feature film “Glitter” was “such a bomb,” but also points out that no one ever mentioned its release being near September 11, 2001.  Evidently she thinks there’s a connection somewhere.

And despite—or perhaps because of—denied rumors that she’d dated Eminem after collaborating with her on her Charm Bracelet album in 2001, criticism of the rapper’s dropped from her lately, adding her to the list of celebrities who have taken offense at Em.  According to her, he’s “obsessed” with her, and she continues to ignore the apparent phone messages Eminem includes in his live shows that evidently are Mariah begging him to return her calls.  Em’s lyrics have dropped Mariah’s name for some time, making one wonder which one of the twosome is “clearly askew.”

She claims to wonder why he’s askew and to be curious why an apology letter’s lacking in the mail.  Then again, she also admits that she’s not exactly been looking for an apology, either.  Mariah has also criticized “The Re-Up,” Eminem’s latest compilation album, but she’s not spending much time on the matter as she finishes working on her new film, “Tennessee.”
