Naomi Campbell Does Community Services

Super model Naomi Campbell started her community service looking more like she was ready for the run way and not for cleaning floors. She reported for work on Monday wearing stilettos, a paperboy hat, and a fashionable coat which flared out at the bottom. Work boots slung over her shoulder was the only sign that she was ready to go to work sweeping and mopping floors.
Naomi is doing five days of community service as part of her sentence for pleading guilty to injuring a maid by throwing a cell phone at her. The maid, Ana Scolavino, was hit in the head and sustained injuries. Naomi must also pay Scolavino’s medical expenses and participate in an anger management course.
Naomi reported to work Monday in a dark colored SUV. She is performing her community service at Manhattan District 3 Garage at Pier 36 on the Hudson River. This is the same location where Boy George performed his community service. Boy George was sentenced after a bizarre incident in which he falsely called police to his home and said there had been a robbery. While there, the police found cocaine. While Boy George had to perform his duties outside; Naomi will be performing hers inside (and out of the public eye).
Albert Durrell, deputy chief of the Department of Sanitation told the press that Naomi will be wearing goggles, gloves, and a mask in order to protect her from harmful chemicals. He said that she showed up on time and ready for work. He also said that there is plenty of work for Naomi to do this week.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Naomi spoke about her (then) upcoming community service, “I’m happy to do it. I never spoke about what I wouldn’t do and what I would do – I’m just doing what I’m told to do and that’s it. And once it’s over, I’ll get on with my life, and it’s over.”
