Nicole Richie confirms pregnancy

The rumors this time have proven to be true. Nicole Richie has confirmed she is pregnant, with boyfriend, Good Charlotte front man, Joel Madden, as the father. It’s official now.

“Yes I am. We are.” Nicole Richie told ABC News’s Diane Sawyer for an interview that will be aired later this week. “I’m almost four months.”

In the interview with Diane Sawyer, Nicole Richie speaks about why there is a trend of young celebrity girls that are behaving badly. She also thinks that her actions have affected girls who have looked up to her. Richie rose to fame when she appeared with Paris Hilton on the reality series “The Simple Life.”

Richie was stopped in December when police said she was seen driving the wrong way on a Los Angeles freeway. Police officers said she failed the sobriety test they gave her and she also admitted she had smoked marijuana and taken Vicodin. Because of a 2003 DUI conviction, Nicole had faced a sentence of up to a year in jail if she was found guilty but instead she submitted a plea. She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to four days in jail.

“I have a responsibility and it’s something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would,” Richie says about her guilty plea. “And unfortunately, I can’t, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult.”
