Paris Hilton, and Again and Again…

Paris Hilton seems to stay in and out of trouble and driving seems to be the bane of her existence, wherever she goes.  She was cited for DUI and reckless driving back in September 2006 and placed on 36 months probation by the court just five weeks ago.  Not only was her license suspended by the DMV, but also she was told in no uncertain terms that all laws must be obeyed.  Yet, once again Paris took a chance and ignored the warnings. This time, the cops arrested her leaving a video store in West Hollywood about 10:30 at night as she sped down Sunset Boulevard, with no headlights on. 

Her Christmas present to herself, the $200,000 2007 Bentley Continental GTC, was impounded.  Miss Hilton was cited for driving with a suspended license; however, no alcohol tests were conducted.  Her spokesman Elliott Mintz stated that Paris had decided at the last minute to pick up some DVDs after a photo shoot at her home.  Being in a hurry, she simply neglected to turn on the headlights after leaving the well-lighted garage where her car is parked. 

But, Paris Hilton’s troubles aren’t always close to home in Los Angeles.  Just two weeks ago, while in Germany, she was stopped by German border guards on the way to an opera in the city of Vienna.  Although she had an expired passport, she was allowed to proceed after officials at the U.S. embassy vouched for her identity and citizenship.  Of course, a hearing on the latest incident in California will have to be scheduled, but no date has been set.  It is clear that she has violated the terms of her probation, but whether she serves any jail time remains to be seen.  Paris Hilton may continue driving and thinking the laws don’t apply to her, unless some judge decides to finally get tough.  Calls placed to other representatives went unanswered.
