Paris Hilton Asks the Governator for a Pardon

Tuesday, May 08, 2007

Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail but will she go?

Female celebrity Paris Hilton is asking her fans to sign a petition to keep her out of jail. Although she has done modeling, released an album, created her own perfume, starred in Hollywood movies, Paris Hilton is best known for her “home movies” and her outrageous lifestyle. Now Paris the Heiress is supporting a petition that will be sent to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (also known as the ‘governator’ a term derived from the words “governor” and “terminator”) asking for a pardon from the Govenor. Hilton was recently sentenced to 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended license.

On her website Paris wrote (in her own spelling) “My friend Joshua started this petition, please help and sihn it. i LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!” She continued, “ I urge all fans and supporters and all that are outraged by injustice to sign this petition.”

But not everyone is supportive, including her fans. One fan, named Raven, wrote this on Paris’ website, “It’s so frustrating to me when famous people get off lightly for crimes that a regular person would be held full responsibility for. I don’t think she should get a full 45 days though. She didn’t hurt anybody and she seems very sorry. I can see letting her go without jail time if she takes some kind of classes about alcohol abuse.”

Tom Arnold, who starred in the “Roseanne” sitcom, had this to say about her sentence, “I do think she should go to lock down rehab – but not a nice one. I think it should be chosen by the judge.  I’ve got some ideas – there’s a place in Alabama that worked for Robert Downey Jr.”

Whether or not one believes that 45 days in jail sentence seems harsh, most will still agree that some jail time for Paris would give her a boost of maturity, which she seems to be in need of.  The sheltered, party princess may soon find out what the ‘simple life’ really means.
