Paris Hilton Steals Christina Aguilera’s Spotlight

Baby rumors have been swirling around pop singer Christina Aguilera for nearly four months now.  The star’s swelling belly has been captured in several pictures for all to see – but no pregnancy confirmation has been made by Christina, her husband; music producer Jordan Bratman or any members of her camp.  Christina has kept mum about the impending birth even after her father, Fausto Aguilera, confirmed the pregnancy in late August.

Now, Christina may find it unnecessary to give the public an official announcement – Paris Hilton nearly did it for her!  At a party in Las Vegas that Aguilera was hosting shortly before the much talked about MTV Video Music Awards, Paris Hilton took her place on stage to congratulate the star.  Congratulate her on what?  Her secret pregnancy of course!  Christina and her hubby Jordan looked on in astonishment as Paris said, “I want everyone to say congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world – Christina Aguilera. She’s the hottest pregnant woman ever. I love you. You’re gorgeous.”

Unfortunately, the entire fiasco was captured on tape and when the camera panned to Aguilera and Bratman’s faces, they quickly switched from shock to polite smiles.  Those present at the party could not deny the tension in the room when Paris made her comment, but no one said a word.  The couple then laughed it off and the party resumed.  Did Paris out Christina’s baby news and steal her thunder on purpose?  Although Aguilera and Hilton aren’t super close friends, neither of them shares animosity towards the other.  Many say that Paris Hilton’s comment was an innocent slip-up.  Others suggest that it was a veiled jab at former friend Nicole Richie’s confirmed pregnancy.

How is Christina handling the situation!  With poise and style – and tight lips.  Christina Aguilera has continued to say nothing about her and Jordan’s upcoming bundle of joy and you can bet it will stay that way – at least, until her baby bump speaks for itself.
