Rosario Dawson

Actress Rosario Dawson has stated that she would only be interested in dating a green-minded man.

The female celebrity, who has starred in films such as Sin City and Josie and the Pussycats, is currently single but has warned potential suitors that they must share her interest in protecting the environment.  Asked whether she would consider dating a man who was not aware of the dangers of climate change she answered, “I’d probably have a really huge problem with that. I am that person who turns lights off every time I walk out of a room.”

Rosario made a presentation at the New Jersey leg of the recent Live Earth concerts.  She was one of many film stars involved in raising the awareness of eco-friendly living – other notable names included Cameron Diaz and Rachel Weisz.

In November 2006, Rosario split up with Sex and the City actor Jason Lewis after a two year long relationship.  Not long after, she was reported to be dating fellow Sex and the City actor Andrea Boccaletti but the actress now states that she is available – for the right man.

Rosario got her break in acting at the age of 15 when film maker Larry Clark spotted her sitting on her porch and asked if she would like to be in his film, Kids.  She greatly enjoyed the experience and set her heart on acting and enrolled into the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.

Growing up, Rosario did not have an easy life.  Aged six, she lived with her parents and younger brother, Clay, squatting in a Manhattan flat.  Her unusual upbringing taught her the worth of money and of value of her surroundings.  She said, “I hate leaving running water. I can’t stand it. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. I grew up in a squat on the Lower East Side of New York, and I know what it is to conserve. There are really small things that can make a big difference. We’re not only talking about major things here. There are really reachable goals.”
