Sarah Michelle Gellar Goes Green To Save Cents

Sarah Michelle Gellar has joined the green revolution for the most unlikely of reasons – to save money.

The successful Buffy the Vampire Slayer star cannot be strapped for cash, but has taken to reusing shopping bags and cycling to work to save a few cents and help protect the environment.

“I take my reusable bag to Whole Foods so I get a discount,” she said in an interview with Self magazine.

“I go to Bloomingdale’s on double rewards day. And I always print my dry cleaning coupons before I go. My dry cleaner laughs. He’s like, ‘You don’t have to keep printing them out!’”

And she has been turning heads with her bright pink bicycle on the New York City streets.

“Not only is it bright pink with the bell and streamers and the whole thing, but it has Hello Kitty tires. Every time I leave my apartment, my doorman just shakes his head,” she said.

Gellar will always be known for her leading role in massively successful TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer; she has also developed a successful movie career with films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2 and Scooby Doo.

Her kiss with Selma Blair in 1999 movie Cruel Intentions won the ‘Best Kiss’ award at the MTV movie awards and features in countless ‘Sexiest Moments In Film’ polls.

Gellar has been busy over the past couple of years with a host of new films, including Southland Tales and Addicted.

She has been married to Hollywood star Freddie Prinze Jr since 2002 after meeting him while filming I Know What You Did Last Summer.
