Star Has a New Look and a New Job
Monday, March 19, 2007
Star Jones Reynolds left television’s The View during a bitter dispute with the show’s co-hosts and producers. Her departure left a spot on the show; which was filled by comedian Rosie O’Donnell. During the months that followed, Star fought her own battles with depression. Her depression undoubtedly contributed to her weight gain. At her heaviest, Star weighed in at over 300 pounds. But now, Star is back with a new television show of her own. And, she is looking better than ever.
A former district attorney, Star started her television career as a legal commentator on Court TV. She is returning to her roots with her new show. An as yet untitled show for Star is in the works by Court TV. It is said to be a serious show with a mixture of commentary and news interviews (conducted by Star).
A new show is not all that is new for Star--she has a new body too. Star has gone from over 300 pounds to a mere 127 pounds. She did it by dieting, doing water aerobics three times a week, playing tennis, and doing toning exercises (which she learned at Exhale spa in the Hamptons).
Star had a make over to go with her new body. Gone is the long, dark hair. In it’s place is a shorter cut and lighter hair. Her make up is more natural and Star is sporting eye glasses. The new look is obviously an attempt to make star look like a serious legal analyst.
Star’s recent good fortune has not gone unnoticed by the ladies on her old TV show The View. Rosie O’Donnell graciously wished Star the best of luck. However, Star’s old adversary, Joy Behar was not so nice--calling Star a “skinny b___h” Star (who wasn’t going to let Behar ruin her moment, laughed off the comment saying, “I’ve never heard the word ‘skinny’ and my name mentioned in the same sentence.”
