Teri Hatcher Prioritizes

Teri Hatcher, the star of the hit television drama, Desperate Housewives, has plenty of plans for the summer. While many television stars look for roles on the big screen; Teri isn‘t one of them. Her plans all evolve around her home life and her 9 year old daughter.

In a recent interview, Teri talked about how important her daughter is to her. “I’m really clear about my priority in my life – it’s being a mom. I have enough difficulty balancing doing the show for ten and a half months with being a mom the way I want to be”, says Teri, “I want to be doing homework, I want to be making dinner.”

Teri shares the same concerns as millions of working mothers who feel they have to choose between being home with the kids or having a career.  The Desperate Housewives star says that she has turned down movie roles in order to stay home with her daughter, “I love doing films, and I’d like to do that, but I wouldn’t like to do it more than I’d like to be my daughter’s mother.”

The domestic goddess enjoys planning special activities for her daughter. At Halloween she planned a party for her daughter’s friends. Teri cooked dinner and baked cookies. She decorated her house in fun Halloween themes.  She even made a maze out of corn and hay.

However, don’t expect Teri to just disappear during the summer months. This mom has plenty of projects up her sleeves; such as writing and producing. These types of activities fit in with her stay at home schedule.
