Victoria Beckham to co-host The View

Despite early rumours declaring it a two-horse race between Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd to replace Rosie O’Donnell on The View, English popstar Victoria Beckham has emerged among the front runners.

It seems as if Posh Spice cannot get enough to do at the moment.  After moving to Los Angeles to promote the Spice Girls’ upcoming tour, their first show is in LA on 7 December this year, Victoria also has an episode of Ugly Betty coming up, she runs her own clothing line and she also looks after her three kids Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

Since arriving in the United States recently, Victoria and husband David Beckham have made a splash with the resident celebrities.  As well as being good friends with movie star couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have come out as fans of David and have reportedly been placing bets to see if they can woo the footballer.

Upon Victoria’s arrival, Paris had told the press she hoped the two could be friends but Posh quickly snubbed her, saying, “Over my dead body!  We couldn’t be more different. You won’t catch me falling out of nightclubs with no knickers on.”

Victoria is being offered the chance to co-host The View because of her celebrity appeal. 

Show creator Barbra Walters said, “Victoria is hardly a bimbo and she has the added appeal of having already rubbed a lot of American women the wrong way, so sparks are guaranteed to fly.

“There’s no doubt she’s going to add a lot of pizzazz to the show.”

Not long after David turned down the chance to appear on The Simpsons (because of jokes they made about his affair with Rebecca Loos in a Christmas Special) Victoria was offered a two week trial on The View. 

Her first guest?  Paris Hilton.
