A fat lip? A bee sting? Or cosmetic surgery gone wrong? What on earth has happened to Nicole Richie’s lips?

After a much publicised episode of health problems, Nicole Richie had finally been showing signs of a return to normal life.  The Hollywood waif had finally begun to take notice of medical advice regarding her size zero frame, and life threatening weight problems.  She also seems to have her troublesome drink and drugs problems under control, but what has she done to her lips?

She recently appeared in public sporting lips which appeared to have grown in size over night, with many speculating that she has undergone cosmetic surgery to “thicken” her lips - collagen implants seem to be the favourite amongst celebrity observers.  Whatever the truth, the results have not gone to plan, and her “new” face has been the subject of much mocking in the media.

The adopted daughter of singing sensation Lionel Richie seems to be opting for the “Paris Hilton” look, her partner of many boozy nights out on the Hollywood circuit.  Her family have been troubled of late due to Ms Richie’s erratic behaviour, which resulted in a long stint in Rehab.  It seems that after months of negative comments in the press, she seems to be turning her life around, although as a leading member of the Hollywood “Brat Pack”, some observers are unsure whether she can steer clear of further temptation.

She is still very much involved with TV show “The Simple Life” although there have been rumours that her friendship with Paris Hilton is under strain due to a number of run-ins over the last few months.  Quite what the future holds for Ms Richie is uncertain, but it seems inevitable that she will never be too far away from the headlines - for whatever reason!
