American Idol favorite Carrie Underwood was back on the awards trail this week as she picked up three awards at the American Music Awards, including favorite female country artist and country album.
Underwood, who won the popular TV talent show in 2005, has captured the hearts of the American public in the past two years and has picked up a string of awards.

Carrie Underwood is still shocked and surprised at her success in the recording industry according to CNN.com. Especially since the petite blonde has a shy and reserved side and thought she looked terrible on American Idol. Underwood sang in church, school musicals and talent shows near her home in Checotah, Oklahoma and is the youngest of three sisters.

The fan-determined CMT Music Awards gave Carrie Underwood several awards this year. She won best video director, female video, and video of the year with her vengeance-loaded hit “Before He Cheats.” The song has her destroying a cheating boyfriend’s “pretty little souped-up 4-wheel drive” before dumping him; maybe “he’ll think before he cheats” on whoever the next girl is. She thanked her fans heartily for the award, telling them they made the last two years worthwhile. Her debut album, “Some Hearts”, sold over 5 million copies.
